Bengals expect Mike Daniels signing to happen soon

The Cincinnati Bengals expect to have a deal with free-agent defensive lineman Mike Daniels done soon.

Bengals head coach Zac Taylor himself made the announcement during a media meet Tuesday, according to ESPN’s Ben Baby: “Bengals coach Zac Taylor said the official addition of DT Mike Daniels should be soon. Not sure if it will be today. Will talk about Daniels once he signs his deal.”

Word of Daniels’ visit to Paul Brown Stadium broke over the weekend and it sounded like he took a physical Monday. Presumably, the holdup is NFL protocols each team must follow while onboarding a player, including COVID-19 tests.

No matter the cause, it sounds like this one is a done deal as the Bengals look to reinforce a position that just lost Ryan Glasgow and Josh Tupou. In what seems like a corresponding move, the Bengals waived undrafted free agent Tyler Clark.
