Bengals’ Evan McPherson prematurely celebrated potential game-winning FG, which he missed

Oh no Evan McPherson, not like this.

In case you missed the absolute fiasco that was the end of the Cincinnati Bengals and Green Bay Packers game, the two teams combined to miss five field goals in the fourth quarter and overtime as the score sat at 22-22. Packers’ kicker Mason Crosby missed three straight field goals in spectacular fashion, but eventually made up for it by kicking the 49-yard game-winner with two minutes left in overtime.

Unfortunately, McPherson never got a chance to redeem himself, especially after this tragic moment. The Bengals had the chance to win the game on McPherson’s 49-yard attempt with four minutes left in overtime, but sadly the ball hit off the upright and missed.

McPherson, however, didn’t realize his kick had missed and had started celebrating what he thought was the game-winning kick to give the Bengals the win.

That’s… yeah that’s a tough one. It hurts even more in the slow motion replay.

Here’s how the NFL world reacted to McPherson’s miss and premature celebration.
