Bengals’ D.J. Reader undergoes surgery, shares positive message about comeback

Cincinnati Bengals nose tackle D.J. Reader underwent surgery in Houston recently after suffering a season-ending quad injury in Week 5 against the Baltimore Ravens.

Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle noted that Reader had surgery and shared a room with Houston Texans linebacker and former teammate Benardrick McKinney.

Both got a visit from J.J. Watt, who has always had high praise for Reader.

Reader suffered the injury in Week 5 and the Bengals shifted him to injured reserve, then signed Xavier Williams, a guy they had hosted on a workout the week prior.

Reader himself then hit social media to share a positive message as he begins a lengthy comeback:
