Bengals’ D.J. Reader carted off after suffering injury vs. Ravens

Cincinnati Bengals defensive lineman D.J. Reader left the field on a cart during Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Reader went down in the third quarter of a 17-0 game in favor of the Ravens, clutching at a knee while teammates signaled for a cart.

The big free-agent prize for the Bengals this offseason has been a rock inside, especially while Geno Atkins missed the first four games of the season.

We’ll have more when the team issues a statement on the injury, but it’s the latest in a long line of setbacks this year that forced the Bengals to go out and get Mike Daniels late in free agency — only for him to end up on injured reserve as well.

Update: The Bengals quickly declared Reader out after getting him to the locker room.
