Bengals create offensive fireworks in new 3-round mock draft

At this point, NFL mock drafts have become a bit boring for fans of the Cincinnati Bengals.

Boring…in the sense the team is about to draft the best quarterback prospect since Andrew Luck with Joe Burrow.

But mocks that extend beyond the opening round are still interesting, which is what makes the latest three-round effort from NFL.com’s Chad Reuter worth a look.

First, his explanation for the Burrow pick:

“Burrow told reporters at the combine that he will play for whoever drafts him, knocking down the talk that he’d refuse to suit up for the Bengals. He has the confidence to lead a franchise to victories — as long as the talent around him is sufficient enough to aid his efforts.”

And speaking of sufficient talent, the next two picks:

  • 33. Denzel Mims, WR, Baylor
  • 65. Isaiah Wilson, OT, Georgia

In other words, the Bengals luck into a wideout who measured at 6’3″ and 207 pounds before ripping off a 4.38-second time in the 40-yard dash. Don’t forget in the third round an offensive tackle graded at NFL.com as someone with the potential to be a starter within his first two seasons.

Provided the Bengals attack the defense in free agency this mock feels like an “A” grade waiting to happen.
