Bengals compensatory pick update as John Ross sees snaps with Giants

A week ago, we noted that former Cincinnati Bengals first-round pick John Ross continued to be on a pace that would net his former team a compensatory draft pick.

That continued in Week 8 as Ross again saw the field for the New York Giants in his team’s 20-17 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Thanks to his continued playing time, in which he led the Giants in receiving with two catches for 72 yards, Ross continues to pace in a manner that would net the Bengals an extra fourth-round pick.

At the Giants’ current pace, Ross would need to play just over 300 snaps this year to let the Bengals get an extra draft pick — and he’s played 154 so far, per Nick Korte of Over The Cap:

Ross’ playing time is dipping a bit as the Giants rotate names at the third wideout spot. But his explosiveness down the field, again seen on Monday night, should keep him in the rotation.
