Bengals’ combine meet with Joe Burrow draws rave reviews

The initial rumblings about Joe Burrow’s meet with the Cincinanti Bengals at the 2020 NFL combine are in — and they sound great.

Cincinnati got its meet with Burrow in on Wednesday, a day removed from reportedly meeting with Tua Tagovailoa.

And according to an account from Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com, things couldn’t have gone better:

During the 18-minute interview session , Burrow, looking more and more like he could be the Bengals’ next franchise quarterback, reportedly had an engaged give-and-take with everybody from Bengals president Mike Brown, head coach Zac Taylor, director of player personnel Duke Tobin and offensive coordinator Brian Callahan. One club official not among that group said it was the best interview he had ever attended.

While “the best interview he had ever attended” sounds like typical draft-season talk, it isn’t hard to think the smooth-talking Burrow got along just fine with Bengals representatives.

As expected, it sounds like the Bengals grilled Burrow on progressions and protections from his game film. This is the first time they’ve met him personally, but they had to cram as much as possible into the allotted time.

The Bengals don’t figure to get more personal time with Burrow until mid-April just before the draft around his pro day.
