Bengals coaches were at Kansas State pro day for Dalton Risner, others

The Cincinnati Bengals are still making moves.

They recently sent a few coaches out to Kansas State University’s pro day. The coaches, per Chief’s Digest beat reporter Matt Derrick, were intrigued by offensive lineman Dalton Risner and running back Alex Barnes.

While running back may not be a position the Bengals need to fill imminently, the offensive line is. That said, the 6-foot-5, 23-year-old Risner may be the quintessential Day 2 target for Cincinnati.

However, per Draft Wire’s full seven-round mock draft, Risner is projected to be the draft’s 18th overall pick. Here’s what author Luke Easterling said about Risner and his potential.

This team has some dangerous offensive weapons and a capable quarterback, but the protection has to improve across the board. Risner’s experience and polish should make him an instant-impact player at the next level, and his versatility would make him an upgrade at multiple spots.

The same mock draft actually had the Bengals drafting an O-lineman, but it was OU’s Cody Ford. For the Bengals fanbase, it seems to be Devin White, a top-5 pick in Easterling’s mock draft, gaining the bulk of attention.

That said, offensive line may certainly be the play for Cincinnati, and Risner could be as good as option as any. Don’t be shocked if you hear Risner’s name called with the Bengals’ 11th overall selection.
