Bengals blow out Cardinals 35-3 in ‘Madden’ simulation of Week 5 matchup

The Arizona Cardinals host the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 5 and the belief is that they could upset a struggling Cincinnati team. Cardinals fans also know that it could be the game where Joe Burrow and the Bengals, expected to be Super Bowl contenders, turn things around and get right.

In a “Madden NFL 24” simulation of the game, everything went wrong for the Cardinals and the Bengals rolled to a 35-3 win.

Burrow threw four touchdown passes, three to Ja’Marr Chase. The Cardinals had only 149 yards of offense, and quarterback Josh Dobbs, who was sacked twice, had only 79 passing yards and was picked off twice.

Dobbs was picked off on the first drive of the game by Dax Hill, setting up a nine-yard touchdown pass from Burrow to Chase.

The Cardinals answered with their only good drive of the game. They went the length of the field but were stopped at the one. Matt Prater kicked a 19-yard field goal.

Burrow and Chase connected for an 11-yard touchdown to make it 14-3 and that was the extent of the scoring in the first half.

The Bengals got the ball after halftime and Burrow threw a four-yard touchdown pass to tight end Irv Smith

Chase Brown added a three-yard rushing touchdown and, after Dobbs was picked off by rookie cornerback DJ Turner, Burrow threw his fourth touchdown pass of the game, the third to Chase.

It was 35-3 for the final score.

Burrow had more touchdown passes than completions, going 26-for-29 passing for 263 yards and four touchdowns. Running back Joe Mixon had 73 yards on 18 rushes. Chase had seven receptions for 58 yards and three scores. Tyler Boyd caught six passes for 61 and rookie receiver Andre Iosivas, getting playing time in place of Tee Higgins, caught four of 45.

For Arizona, James Conner rushed fro 43 yards and Hollywood Brown led with two catches for 25 yards. They gave up four sacks and did not sack Burrow in the game.
