Bengals beating Steelers in ‘best WR trio in AFC North’ poll

The Cincinnati Bengals went all-in at wideout this offseason, logically adding the pre-established Joe Burrow-LSU connection via Ja’Marr Chase with Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd.

So the question is simple — is that trio the best in the AFC North?

Funnily enough, Pro Football Focus just tried to answer this question by polling Twitter users, pitting the Bengals against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

And as of this writing, the polling isn’t even close — Higgins, Chase and Boyd outpace Chase Claypool, Diontae Johnson and JuJu Smith-Schuster.

While a small sample size, it’s a pretty good sign of how onlookers view the wideout situation in the AFC North right now. It’s pretty much universal to think Chase is going to be a stud, while Boyd remains reliable and Higgins has massive upside.

For Pittsburgh, Claypool has gigantic upside too. But JuJu has struggled without a No. 1 taking attention and Johnson has to clean up a drops issue.

One could argue the Cleveland Browns should have been in this discussion instead of the Steelers. Either way, for the typically-underrated Bengals, it’s nice to see it’s pretty widely held that the wideout corps. around Joe Burrow in 2021 should be superb.
