Bengals are home underdogs vs. Jaguars in Week 7

Even with the Jacksonville Jaguars seeming to take a short-term hit by trading away star corner Jalen Ramsey to the Los Angeles Rams, the Cincinnati Bengals are home underdogs in Week 7.

The winless Bengals are 3.5-point underdogs on an over/under of 43.5 points (odds via BetMGM).

That’s at home against a 2-4 team that has lost in consecutive weeks to New Orleans and Carolina teams without starting quarterbacks.

And yet, it’s hard to shake the feeling the Bengals deserve the underdog role here. Zac Taylor hasn’t led the team to a win yet and while he hasn’t been perfect, an onslaught of injuries hasn’t helped. The latest is the team facing multiple weeks without its top two corners.

Tasked with stopping a violent ground game and shutting down a strong pass rush — two areas that are weak points for the Bengals — Cincinnati is going to have a hard time convincing would-be betters to invest.

As was the case last week, it’s probably best to shy away from the Bengals, whose embracing of the underdog role hasn’t helped them pick up a win.
