Bengals announce opening training camp in Dayton to honor NFL’s 100th season

The Cincinanti Bengals will open training camp in Dayton at Welcome Stadium on July 27.

Monday, the team announced the kickoff to training camp will start in Dayton as a partnership effort with the NFL to celebrate its 100th season.

Dayton is considered one of 13 “Original Towns” the NFL will honor in 2019, starting with the Bengals opening training camp there.

“There have always been great Bengals fans in the Dayton area,” Bengals executive vice president Katie Blackburn said. “The Bengals are excited to get back to Dayton for a special practice opening the Zac Taylor era, kicking off the 2019 season and recognizing the history of the NFL and the first game played in Dayton at Triangle Park.”

Welcome Stadium seats 11,000 and free admission starts at 1:30 p.m. ET. The practice is the first of 11 open to the general public, with the rest shifting back to Cincinnati.

The Bengals will announce the rest of the training camp schedule Tuesday.
