Bengals announce Joe Mixon deal, share images of signing

The extension for Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon that was eight months in the making landed a signature Wednesday at Paul Brown Stadium.

Mixon inked a four-year extension worth $48 million that has some interesting cap-space ramifications for the Bengals.

The team shared images on social media about the signing process. Head coach Zac Taylor said the following about getting the deal done before the regular season, per ESPN’s Ben Baby: “It’s just the way it shook out. We got it done… Just glad to get it off the plate and move forward.”

The extension locks up Mixon through 2024 and was met with plenty of big reactions.

This last item seems to be the last of the big moves for the Bengals before the season starts. Taylor and Co. were adamant on getting Mixon’s deal done to make sure Joe Burrow has his star back for 2020 and beyond.
