🗣 CAPTAINS, SET | #SeizeTheDEY

The first team captains of the Zac Taylor era for the Cincinnati Bengals don’t offer much in the way of surprises.

Quarterback Andy Dalton leads the crew alongside A.J. Green. Giovani Bernard, fresh off inking a new extension, is the third offensive captain.

“Gio is a guy we can count on,” Taylor said, according to Bengals.com. “He’s been a dependable, steady back in this league for a long time. He’s a great leader for this team, so we feel it’s very important to have him around in the years to come.”

Defensively, the nod goes to Geno Atkins and Shawn Williams, leaving out a notable like Carlos Dunlap. Clayton Fejedelem is the lone representative on special teams, which isn’t a shocker given his standout play there.

If nothing else, this is something to take note of going into the regular season because it gives a sense of who the locker room and new coaching staff view as the driving forces of the franchise this year.
