Bengal rowing team makes it to finals

KOLKATA: The Bengal rowing team has reached the finals at eight events in the inter-state challengers and sub junior national championships currently underway at Dal Lake in Srinagar. The team will compete in the finals on Saturday.

The team will compete in finals in men’s double, boys’ pairs, men’s four, women’s four, boy’s scull, girl’s scull, women’s doubles and girls’ doubles.

“This is an incredible performance without any practice in the Lake for the last one month in Kolkata. We are certain that our finalists will perform their best at the last stage of the championship. Whatever becomes the result in the finals, all our participants are champions,” said Chandan Roy Chowdhury of Calcutta Rowing Club.

This club has a maximum number of rowers participating in the 28-member squad representing Bengal.
