Spurs set to bid for new striker transfer target
Spurs are reportedly set to table a bid for Benfica centre forward Haris Seferovic after increased competition for Arkadiusz Milik.
According to Football Insider, Jose Mourinho’s side are lining up a bid for the 28-year-old as they look to add additional attacking options before the transfer deadline.
The report also states that talks are set to get underway in the coming days with regards to a loan move for the Swiss international.
Spurs had previously been linked with Napoli’s Milik but reports suggest that other clubs, including Manchester United, are also in the hunt for his signature.
Vertonghen sends strong message to FA after penalty decision
Former Spurs defender Jan Vergonthen has sent a strong message to the Football Association after Newcastle United’s controversial penalty decision on Sunday.
Eric Dier’s handball was picked up by VAR and subsequently saw Steve Bruce’s side earn themselves a point in the final seconds of the game.
Vertonghen took to social media after the game to express his discontentment at the decision that went against his former side.
He tweeted: “The FA needs to start asking themselves some serious questions.
"Absolutely shocking decisions and they are hiding behind the referees."
Wilson praises ‘marvellous’ penalty decision
Callum Wilson insists that the controversial penalty decision that earned his side a point on Sunday is ‘absolutely marvellous’ for him personally.
The club’s summer signing scored from the spot in injury-time on Sunday to earn a point against a thoroughly dominant Spurs side who should have taken their chances.
He told Sky Sports : "It's absolutely marvellous, for me.
"It's got me on the scoresheet today. Long may it continue, to be honest!
"Obviously, when it goes for you, it's nice but when it goes against you, obviously it's frustrating."
