Benfica forward urges Joao Felix to reject Manchester United transfer

Joao Felix has been urged to reject any offer from Manchester United by one of his Benfica teammates.

Felix has been a standout performer for Benfica this season and played a crucial role in their successful campaign under manager Bruno Lage which saw them secure the Portuguese top-flight title.

The 19-year-old attacking midfielder netted 20 goals this season and notched 11 assists as he burst onto the scene with a sensational breakthrough campaign.

His impressive return in front of goal has seen him linked with a number of top clubs in the summer transfer window, with United and Man City both reportedly interested in a move.

However, Felix has been urged to stay at Benfica by club teammate Haris Seferovic who believes remaining at the Portuguese side would be a crucial step in him reaching the top of his game.

“I’ve played with many good players during my time with all the clubs in the past, but the understanding with Joao Felix is the best”, Seferovic told Portuguese daily A Bola.

“He can reach the top.

“He has everything to be a great player. I hope he takes it easy, then he’ll go to the top.

“I’d like him to stay [with Benfica]. I want him to stay, he has to stay.”
