Benedict Cumberbatch in A Lifetime of Original British Drama on the BBC trailer

Benedict Cumberbatch won’t have needed to do much rehearsing for the BBC’s new drama trailer, in which he recites the “seven ages of man” monologue from Shakespeare’s As You Like It. The Sherlock star read the same speech for a Google+ advertisement two years ago. The BBC’s two-minute trailer features clips from current shows and upcoming attractions, but also numerous fleeting glimpses from the corporation’s drama archive. Why the same actor was chosen to speak the same words remains something of a mystery, but Monkey is certain of one thing: the Beeb’s montage is a much better watch than Google’s mawkish effort.
