Ben Woodburn to Hearts transfer latest as Robbie Neilson admits deal is close to being 'finalised'

Hearts boss Robbie Neilson has revealed the club are close to completing the signing of Ben Woodburn on loan.

The Liverpool youngster has been highly rated at Anfield but is out of contract next summer and spent much of his time out on loan.

And now he's set to move to Hearts with Neilson insisting they are happy to wait as long as it takes to get the right players in at the club.

Hearts have signed just Josh Ginnelly, Ross Stewart, Alex Cochrane and Beni Baningime this summer and Woodburn could be added to that in the coming days.

The Wales international has 11 first team appearances at Liverpool and spent time on loan at Sheffield United, Oxford and Blackpool.

And Neilson said: "We're still negotiating with Liverpool. We're almost done with it. It's just a case of getting things finalised so he's still a Liverpool player at the moment. But he's one we're really interested in taking here.

"I don't want to comment too much. We're still negotiating, as we are with a few other players as well so we'll see how it goes in the next couple of days.

"We've waited a number of months now to get the right players in and we'll continue to do that with the guys we're trying to recruit. If we need to wait, we need to wait."
