Ben Woodburn reveals Hearts advice from Andy Robertson as winger hails 'massive club'

Hearts new boy Ben Woodburn has revealed Andy Robertson helped talk him into a move to Edinburgh.

The Scotland skipper urged Woodburn to join Hearts after praising his international colleagues who play for the club.

The likes of Craig Gordon, Gary Mackay-Steven and John Souttar well known to Robertson and he believes a move to Tynecastle can be a big help for Woodburn's career.

The Wales winger has been tipped for big things since breaking through at 16 but has so far been unable to live up to his potential, and hopes a move to Hearts can help him kick on.

Woodburn joins on a deal until the end of the season and he's excited to get going after being delighted with what Robbie Neilson had to say to him.

He said: “I’m delighted to be here and get the deal done. It’s been a couple of weeks now that I’ve known Hearts were interested and now I’m here I just can't wait to get started.

“When I heard about the interest I was buzzing. I spoke to Andy Robertson. He talked about a few of the boys he knows. He said there is a good bunch of lads here and I should enjoy it.

“I spoke to the manager before I came up and he had a vision for me, and I agreed with what he thought. It was a good combination. Joe (Savage) has helped me, he’s made me feel very welcome.

“It just looks like a massive club. I can’t wait to play in front of the fans and see the atmosphere. I’m buzzing to be here and hopefully I can prove to them (the fans) that I can be a great player for you.

“I think with the games coming, that (v Hibs) is definitely one (to look forward to). I’ve heard about the rivalry and that’s something I’d love to be involved in. I can’t wait.”
