Ben White's former manager has urged the defender to sign for Liverpool because Jurgen Klopp would be able to help him 'improve again'.
The centre back has been linked with a move to the Reds this summer, with rumours mounting following the departure of Dejan Lovren to Zenit St Petersburg.
White enjoyed an impressive season in the Championship as he helped Leeds United gain promotion back to the Premier League.
As they plan for their return to the top flight of English football, Marco Bielsa understandably would like to keep White's services but reports claim they have already had two bids turned down.
A permanent move from his parent club Brighton could apparently cost upwards of £30million with two years believed to be remaining on his contract. Most recent reports also suggest the Seagulls insist the defender is not for sale.
However, Michael Flynn, who worked with White at Newport County during the 2017/18 season, believes he should sign for the Premier League champions as the coaching set up at Anfield including guidance from Klopp and Pep Lijnders will benefit him the most.
Speaking to TalkSport2 as cited by SussexLive, Flynn admitted he may want to stay on the south coast for a year to get more Premier League gametime under his belt but would prefer to see his old player end up on Merseyside and explained why he believes it would be the next step up in his career.
He said: "I’d love to see him at Liverpool. I know Pep Lijnders, the assistant, he’s an unbelievable coach.
“So I know he will help Ben improve. He’s got to do what’s best for Ben White. That could be getting a season in the Premier League with regular games at Brighton, which I think he could do.
“Jurgen Klopp, as a manager, gets the best out of all his players. I can just see him improving again."

“Graham Potter (Brighton manager) might want to keep him and bring him on and then sell him for more money after a year in the Premier League.
“That’s a decision for Ben, but for biased reasons, I’d be edging him towards Liverpool."

There may be doubts whether the 22-year-old would be able to break into Liverpool's first team, with Virgil van Dijk's place unmovable as Joe Gomez and Joel Matip are rotated as a partner for the Dutchman but Flynn has no doubt he would be able to find a way in - thanks to the calibre of the squad.
“I’m that confident of Ben that (break into first team) I think he can force his way into any team. Let’s not forget, he’s going to have even better players around him, they’ll bring him on."
Michael Flynn brought Ben White on loan to his League Two side Newport County for the 17/18 season.
During that year, the defender put in impressive performances, particularly in cup competitions, helping knock out Leeds United of the FA Cup and forcing a replay with Tottenham after a 1-1 draw at Wembley.
Flynn described White as "the best loan signing the club has ever made."
