'Ben Watson isn't getting any younger!' - Nottingham Forest fans react to latest Jack Colback transfer twist

Newcastle United are understood to be happy to let Jack Colback leave the club for free this summer - and Nottingham Forest fans are torn over their interest in the former City Ground loanee.

The central midfielder was a fan favourite on Trentside during two loan spells and was heavily linked with a return last summer.

It was reported than wage demands stopped that move and the 30-year-old remained in the North East.

However, as the Premier League gears up for it's June 17 restart, clubs have been allowed to extend their squads to combat any injury problems that may arise during the hectic fixture pile up.

And Colback has been snubbed for a spot in Steve Bruce's squad in what looks set to be his final season for the club.

But would Forest fans have him back? Here's what they have been saying on our Forest Facebook page, where YOU can join the discussion.

Zack Butlin: He was good for us, but I don't think he would get enough playtime with Wozza and Sow. Maybe as a back up since Yates isn't a good CDM but not starting 11, but I don't think he would be happy with that.

Clive Dobbs: Good player, could really do a job for us but ridiculous wages. Would not consider paying 30% of what he is on...

Jimmy Hallam: He'll get half that but will get a tasty signing on fee for his trouble. I'd take him back straight away and he lives in Notts still.

Julian Lievesley: Watch him turn up at Derby. You read it here first.

Matt Hallam: Doubt we will sign him, would love him back at the City Ground.

Phillip Hall: Says it all. Wages, You having a laf?

Christophe Frost: Bring him back!

Matt Gutteridge: I would take him! Watson is not getting any younger.
