Ben Turner is Notts County's last-gasp hero as he books Magpies' place in FA Cup second round

Ben Turner booked Notts County's place in the FA Cup second round as the Magpies secured a dramatic 3-2 win at Ebbsfleet.

The hosts got off to the perfect start as Josh Payne gave them the lead after just six minutes with a goal that will undoubtedly be ranked as one of the best of the first round.

There appeared to be no danger when he received the ball 35 yards out but he shifted it out of his feet and unleashed a powerful, swerving, effort that gave Sam Slocombe no chance.

Notts struggled to impose themselves in the opening stages, but as the half wore on they began to control possession but creating chances was proving difficult.

Wes Thomas had a shot on target when he produced an overhead kick which bounced right in front of goalkeeper Jordan Holmes who was able to claim at the second attempt.

But Notts did eventually level when a corner routine worked a treat as Regan Booty played a short pass to Wootton in the area after he span off his marker.

And while his powerful drive looked to have been cleared off the line, the referee's assistant ruled it had gone in ensuring Notts went into the break on level terms.

The striker then grabbed his second with a brilliant finish after fine work from Wes Thomas who had turned his marker in midfield before playing a defence splitting pass to his team-mate.

Enzio Boldewijn was a whisker away from making it three before Fleet's Goze Ugwu  was denied by Slocombe before the striker hit the inside of the post as Notts were put on the back foot.

And Ugwu was not to be denied when he levelled from the spot after Richard Brindley was adjudged to have handled Nick Blackman's cross.

That looked to have sealed Fleet a replay but Turner rose at the back post to nod in a cross in injury time.
