Ben Turner believes Notts County can win 'the ultimate prize'

Ben Turner believes Notts County have the quality to win the "ultimate prize" this season, but insists they must not get carried away with their sensational form.

The Magpies entertain Hartlepool this weekend having lost just three of their last 16 games and go into the National League clash on the back of thumping Woking 4-0 on Tuesday.

With Notts fans increasingly excited about the season ahead, some fans are hoping for an instant return to the Football League.

Centre-back Turner believes Neal Ardley's side have the ability to achieve the dream, but is adamant he will not be looking too far ahead.

“I could tell you this season is about consolidating but no one wants to do that really,” he revealed.

“We have to be looking towards the top end of the table.

“With the individuals and management at this club, I believe we can win the ultimate prize, but we have to take things one game at a time and not look too far ahead because you can’t bypass anything.

“At this club, you have everything you would need to give yourself the best chance to do your job and, if enough of us do that, there’s no reason we can’t maintain our form.”
