Ben Stokes on life outside cricket and a random injury in quiz with Jimmy Bullard

England cricket hero Ben Stokes gave fans an insight into his life outside the boundary in a candid interview with former footballer Jimmy Bullard.

Speaking as part of an chat with clothing brand Eleven Degrees, Bullard quizzed the England and Durham all-rounder on some of his favourite things outside of sport.

Questions included Stokes' favourite song, film, actor, super hero and super power.

Bullard also asked him about his team mates and who he would choose to share a room with while on tour, as well as who was the messiest.

Stokes revealed that he's an "absolute Marvel geek" and his favourite superhero is Captain America.

"I've seen them all," he said, referring to the Marvel series of superhero films.

"My son loves them as well so it's a great excuse when a new one comes out the cinema as I want to go and see them."

Stokes also revealed that if he were to have a superpower, he would love to fly.

He said if there was ever to be a film made about him, he would love to be played by Tom Hardy.

"He's my favourite actor," he says, as Bullard high-fives him.

On his team mates, Stokes revealed that veteran fast bowler Jimmy Anderson was the messiest out of the England squad.

"Jimmy's quite messy, very messy in fact, just slings stuff about," he said.

"Suart Broad's quite orangised, he's 31 going on 44. He thinks he's into his red wine. Ask him for a glass of red wine and he'll pour it out and sniff it."

Towards the end of the interview, Stokes told of the nasty story behind his gnarled right hand.

"I fell off a wall in Cockermouth when I was 18," he said. "The slate on the top of the wall was loose and I tried to jump up and sit on it.

"I ended up falling backwards and the tile ended up falling back onto my hand."

Stokes then holds up his hand to show Bullard who says: "Wow, that's evil!"

"Disregard that," Stokes replies, holding his bent fingers. "That's cricket injuries."
