Ben Stokes and wife deny bust-up after photos emerge of his hand on her neck

Ben Stokes' wife Clare has responded to allegations of a bust-up between the couple at a cricket bash.

Images appear to show England cricket star Stokes with his hand round his wife's neck following the Professional Cricketers’ Association Awards last week.

The alleged incident happened at the Roundhouse in Camden, where Stokes won the Players' Player of the Year award.

But Clare has taken to social media to rubbish any suggestions there was violence involved.

She posted a picture of the couple from the night alongside an image of her lightheartedly grabbing Stokes' face in the car.

"Me and Ben messing about squishing up each other’s faces cos that’s how we show affection and some pap tries to twist it in to a crazy story!

"And all before we then have a romantic McDonalds 20 mins later!"

Stokes had shared multiple images of the night on Instagram, showing him carrying a large takeaway bag from the fast food chain.

After rubbishing the claims, Clare posted a video from her surprise 30th birthday party on social media.
