It’s summer workout season for NBA players, which means fans get the occasional taste of stars working on things they might be using in games later on this year.
That brings us to a video of Philadelphia 76ers point forward Ben Simmons. As you may recall, he just signed a max extension with the Eastern Conference contenders despite the fact he continues not to like to shoot basketballs from anywhere but really close to the hoop.
This clip shows some highlights of him playing … and hitting a bunch of jumpers, including one from distance. This will make Sixers fans sooooo excited:
However, it’s hard to get super pumped about BEN SIMMONS HITTING THREES by just watching one highlight reel from a summer pickup game. The hope is that, as his teammate Tobias Harris said, Simmons has been getting more confident in his shot, leading him to start to try them during actual NBA games. And if this video is part of a larger trend in which he hits them occasionally enough that defenses have to respect his shot this fall?
Look out.
