Ben Simmons finally made the first 3-pointer of his career and NBA fans lost their minds

Ben Simmons did it.

Finally.

The Philadelphia 76ers guard, who was the first overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, hit the first 3-pointer of his career Tuesday night and NBA fans lost their minds.

Granted, it did come in an exhibition game against the Guangzhou Loong Lions but it was still a 3-point shot that went through the hoop and went on the scoreboard.

Simmons, who has struggled mightily with his outside shot during his career, drained his historic 3-pointer in the final seconds of the first half Tuesday night in Philadelphia.

He worked on it all summer and it seemed to pay off right here:
