Ben Shephard 'scared to death' by Tipping Point contestant's alarming reaction

Tipping Point presenter Ben Shephard told a contestant they 'scared the life' out of him with their alarming reaction to the outcome of the ITV game show.

Millions tune in every day to watch the tea time favourite, whether they've just got in from work, school or uni, with Good Morning Britain regular Ben at the helm.

Players' fortunes hang on the fall of the counters in the Tipping Point machine, which itself has been the subject of fan theories that it contains' secret' magnets designed to thwart contestants' chances.

Wednesday's episode saw four more players aim to win big and one of them was Dawn, who made a lasting impression on both Ben and viewers at home.

After successfully answering a chemistry question, Dawn had one counter left to put her faith in and deciding to play rather than pass to an opponent, she could then only look on in hope as it fell from drop zone 2 onto the ledge below.

The drop went Dawn's way as, after Ben remarked: "If the double goes that would be very handy," the double counter did fall, prompting Dawn to let out a high pitched shriek.

Dawn's reaction left Ben shaken (ITV)

As she quickly covered her mouth, Ben turned and told her: "You scared the life out of me...four counters across the Tipping Point...wow!"

Ben posted the clip of Dawn in action on his Twitter, writing: "One of my favourite reactions of the series so far here from Dawn. I’m sure there were lots of #TippingPoint fans making similar noises at their TVs."

One of the first people to respond was Dawn herself, who replied: "You owe me a #benhug Loved the whole experience !!! Thanks @benshephard."

One of the GMB presenter's many followers tweeted: "Loved the show with Dawn, hilarious," while another joked: "Your reaction was better Ben"
