Ben Shephard's Good Morning Britain replacements announced

Ben Shephard announced he would be taking some time off from Good Morning Britain today, as he concentrated on his other ITV show Tipping Point.

Ben, 45, has been hosting GMB alongside friend and colleague Kate Garraway, but today she told viewers it would be Ben's last day.

His replacements have now been announced as Adil Ray and Sean Fletcher.

Both Adil and Sean have presented the show before, with Adil previously filling in for Ben and Piers Morgan frequently over the summer.

Sean first joined the show in 2014 when GMB first launched with Charlotte Hawkins, Susanna Reid and Ben - reports Mirror Online.

Announcing Ben's departure to the nation earlier today Kate said: "This is Ben's last day, you're going and having a bit of time off aren't you."

Ben replied: "I'm not having time off at all, we're about to hit peak Tipping Point, Tipping Point series 11, back in the studio, all back at it socially distanced.

"I think I might be doing a live with Andi (Peters) in a couple of weeks as he's doing Lorraine.

"But yeah sets have had to change to get everything up and running.

Ben and Kate are incredibly close and Ben helped Kate return to work after months, as her husband battled coronavirus in hospital.

Kate's husband Derek remains in hospital, but doctors urged her to return to work as Derek's recovery could take months, after the virus ravaged his body.
