Ben Shephard 'queasy' as he's 'pummelled' by Chris Eubank Jr on Good Morning Britain

Ben Shephard acted like a champ on Good Morning Britain today as he came face to face with Chris Eubank Jr.

The boxing champion was on the ITV breakfast show talking to Ben and co-host Kate Garraway about his upcoming matches. While there, the studio set a challenge for Ben - to survive 20 seconds of non-stop body punches from the legend himself.

Talking about what was to come, Ben said: "I think he's knocked out 33 people." He added: "I feel a bit queasy."

Ranvir Singh added: "I'm a bit worried about this." Pointing to Kate, Ben said: "She's not though, she can't wait."

Kate said: "Yeah, honestly. We were chatting to the producer last night about what was going to be in the show today and I said 'you don't need to show me that, what's this about Ben getting pummelled?' And father Christmas did get my letter after all."

Ben joked: "It's nice to get support from your friends isn't it?"

When Chris was actually on the show, Kate said: "So you have three fights this year... how about another one?" She offered her co-host, Ben, up for a fight with the boxing champion.

The challenge for Ben was to survive 20 seconds of non-stop body punched from Eubank. Walking around to the front of the desk, dressed in shirt and pants, Ben wore a protective guard around his waist.

Eubank told him to tense his abdominal area to "absorb the punches". Kate warned: "Dr Hilary is on standby. I don't know what he will be able to do other than support and laugh."

Kate counted down before Eubank rained a flurry of punches at Ben's stomach. After it Ben caught his breath as he said it was the slowest 20 seconds of his life.

He laughed as he said: "I really need a wee now." The men hugged it out as everyone in the studio praised Ben for taking it so well, despite "looking like he was going to be sick".

Fans of the show loved the segment and took to Twitter. Jo said: "Thanks to @benshephard & @ChrisEubankJr for providing a funny bit of TV on #GMB today. It’s good to start the day off with laughter."

Another user said: "The look of actual terror in Ben's face. Quality telly #gmb"
