Ben Shephard makes fun of Kate Garraway's appearance as she makes apology to Good Morning Britain viewers

Ben Shephard wasted no time in making fun of Kate Garraway's latest look as they appeared back on Good Morning Britain. The pair were back fronting the ITV news programme on Friday (January 13) when Kate had to make a very obvious change.

The presenter was sporting a pair of dark-rimmed glasses for her latest appearance on the show as she had 'sore eyes'. And while he doesn't wear them while on air, it appears Ben is also in the spectacles gang as he shared a selfie of the pair on Twitter.

As they posed and grinned for the snap at their desk in the ITV studio, Ben wrote: "Morning from the Two Ronnies! @kategarraway." And the post did prompt a giggle from the 48-year-old's followers who were also quick to share their compliments and praise for the pair.

@clareboylan said: "Ohhh you both look lovely." @BenDackombe replied: "Love it. You're the dream team on GMB." @BarringDon commented: "Both gorgeous!" @debnolan1960 posted: "My favourite GMB couple." @SeanWhalley8 added: "Good Morning from him and it's Good Morning from her. Two Ronnies very funny lol. Keep up the good work."

But it wasn't just Kate's glasses that were catching peoples attention. It was also her outfit. It started when fellow presenter Charlotte Hawkins, who was on hand to deliver viewers the latest news headlines, addressed comments about her own attire. The radio and TV star, who wore a blue, navy and orange striped dress, said: "Some people are saying I’ve come dressed as the set today because I’ve got the blue and the orange stripes going on."

Ben then replied: “On brand, very on brand," before addressing Kate. He said to the 55-year-old, who was wearing a bright neon green striped dress: "As someone pointed out, no wonder your eyes are hurting. Having to look at that dress, their eyes are hurting too," before laughing.

But quick to respond, Kate issued an apology as she explained: "Sorry everyone. It’s only something this bright I can spot myself in. I need to be luminous."
