Ben Shephard makes 'changes' to GMB as he returns from leg operation

Ben Shephard has returned to viewers screens on Good Morning Britain after his leg operation.

The 46-year-old had his leg up on a chair and supported by a pillow under the presenting desk as he was welcomed back to work.

The presenter underwent surgery around two weeks ago after he ruptured his ACL, tore his meniscus and fractured his leg during a football match.

Ben's co-host on Good Morning Britain Susanna Reid said: "Hello stranger. Welcome back!"

Susanna pointed out: "You look slightly uncomfortable - I'm just going to get the mini cam."

She then zoomed in on Ben's leg, which was propped up by a chair.

Ben said: "I just thought, I've been off for a few weeks, I'm going to start bringing in the changes. I feel like I should be able to do the show with my feet up."

He then went on to explain how he had hurt his leg "while trying to pretend [he] was still a 25-year-old".

Ben said: "Thank you everybody for all your lovely messages it has been lovely to think that you all care.

"If it's at all possible could you send some of that love to my wife because she is the one that's really struggling.

"But it's so far so good, it'll be two weeks tomorrow post operation."

@BernBee commented: "Lovely to see you again Ben, and, yes, it's always the spouse that suffers.... Be patient Annie."

While @lisadownes50 said: "Great to see you back."

And @mitchell340_ added: "Good to see Ben back and Susanna looking absolutely stunning."
