Ben Shephard was left having to apologise to Good Morning Britain viewers on Thursday.
The presenter was joined on the show by co-host Kate Garraway when they were informed of a problem.
While GMB offers all the national news and discusses the latest major headlines, the episodes are usually interspersed with regional news bulletins.
However, on today's show viewers were being shown the wrong local news updates.

A number of them took to social media to ask about the mistake - with people in London receiving updates from the Midlands.
"@GMB I live in London & just watched Central regional news. Not sure what the problem is with your systems but, Won’t be going to Coventry as it’s raining… " tweeted one.
Another said: "Nooooo, it’s all gone t**s up with @GMB."

"@GMB No regional news today, look forward to seeing this. Local current news and weather," a third complained.
Once aware of the issues, Ben said on the show: "Lots of you getting in touch because unfortunately for some reason, the local news that you were just enjoying perhaps might have been from a different region to where you’re waking up this morning.
"Apologies for that."

He added: "We’ll try and sort that out to make sure you get the correct news for your region."
Kate then joked it was someone messing with wires, joking: "That's what happens when you put the wrong wires in.
"They need to be better colour coded."
