This Morning’s Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley were emotional today as they read a statement following the passing of two Air India crash victims.
The pair read a statement from the families of Fiongal and Jamie Greenlaw-Meek, who both tragically died in last week’s horror crash, and had been involved with the ITV programme.
The Gatwick-bound Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner crashed into a residential hostel for student doctors moments after taking off in the Indian city of Ahmedabad on Thursday.
Fiongal, 39, had appeared on This Morning a couple of times discussing the healthy lifestyle company he founded with his husband Jamie, 45.

Cat Deeley started: “We'd like to start by taking a moment to send our heartfelt condolences to the friends and families of Jamie and Fiongal Greenlaw-Meek who lost their lives in the Air India crash on Thursday."
Ben Shepherd continued: "As more details emerge from the devastating tragedy, their loved ones have asked us to share a statement on their behalf.
“It is with profound sadness and unimaginable heartbreak that we confirm that both Jamie and Fiongal were passengers on the Air India flight that has tragically crashed in India."
"They were a bright light in so many of our lives, deeply loved as sons, brothers and friends,” Cat added.
“Their warmth, kindness, humour and generous spirits touched everyone who knew them. We are all beyond devastated by the news and struggling to come to terms with the potential of a life without you."
Ben then finished the statement with a poignant message, adding: "They would want us to spread positive energy to the world, especially at this time, and let peace and love prevail where there is darkness, spread light, love and laughter."
The hosts then reflected on their happy memories of being “lucky enough” to work with the couple on the show.
"They were just absolutely charming gentleman, who were so positive,” Cat said.

Ben said he had been given a gift by Fiongal the last time he was in the studio.
“When Fiongal came in last time, he left us with a little car package,” he said.
“I've got the stuff to cleanse the energy in my room, some grounding stones, a little bell to ting and some spritz.”
He added that the news of their passing was “heartbreaking”.
“And when we heard the news, obviously it was hearbreaking that those lives of these two young men that were so full of joy and wonderful, wonderful souls have been tragically lost,” he said.
“They will be really sorely missed and very, very warmly remembered by their friends and family.”
