Ben Roethlisberger gets in some team building with his skill players

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger partook in some serious team bonding recently when he invited his skill position guys to his home in Georgia for some R&R. If you head over the Blitzburgh Twitter account, you can see a variety of Instagram videos taking by players of the event.

Roethlisberger took guys like JuJu Smith-Schuster and James Conner out on the lake in his boat and the whole group hung out at his house, swimming in his pool.

You are going to hear a whole lot about this over the next few days because this even runs counter to much of the national media criticism Roethlisberger has taken. And the very specific criticism he took from former teammate Antonio Brown.

Was this all a show? Not a chance. This wasn’t for publicity or good press. This could have been something Roethlisberger has wanted to do for a long time but it wasn’t until comfortable doing it with a personality like Brown in the fold.

But regardless of why Big Ben did it, it’s great he did. This is a team finding its way after several seasons of turmoil. Every opportunity this group has to show they are focused on football and each other, I’ll take it.
