Ben Osborn is often known for his dry sense of humour – and amid speculation his time at Nottingham Forest could be coming to an end, he was able to have a little joke about his current situation.
Osborn, a product of Forest’s hugely respected academy system is the subject of interest from Premier League newboys Sheffield United, who have already seen a £3m bid turned down.
The 24-year with more than 200 appearances under his belt at the City Ground club was quizzed by one travelling fan about his future before Saturday night’s thumping friendly win over Atromitos in Athens.
“You’re still with us Ben”, quizzed one travelling Red who watched the players leave the coach around 5pm, responding smartly with “yeah, it looks like it’ before going into the Peristeri Stadium.
Osborn came off the bench in the second half of the Reds’ comfortable 3-0 friendly win over the Europa League outfit, with Sammy Ameobi Michael Dawson and Joe Lolley scoring the goals to cap off a fine night's work.
Forest are back in action when they face a showpiece game with Olympiacos on Tuesday night across Athens at the Karaiskakis Stadium.
