Ben Osborn clarifies comments that got Nottingham Forest fans talking

Ben Osborn has moved to clarify comments he made which angered some Nottingham Forest fans.

Osborn left Forest to join Sheffield United over the summer after making more than 200 appearances for the Reds.

He has found his first-team chances limited since the move to Bramall Lane, with the Blades riding high in the Premier League following promotion from the Championship.

But the 25-year-old has been quoted as saying he was now "at a better club and training with better players".

This upset a section of the Forest faithful but Osborn has insisted he meant no disrespect to his former club.

Responding to a comment from a Reds fans on Twitter, the Derby-born player said: "Just seen this, has been taken out of context. I meant better as in current league only.

"Bit rusty on the pre match press conference, it had been a while."

Osborn signed for the Blades in a deal understood to be worth around £3.5m.

He has made seven senior appearances for the Yorkshire club - but his three starts have all been in cup competitions, with four substitute outings in the Premier League.

Chris Wilder's men are sixth in the table after 22 league fixtures.

Forest, meanwhile, are fifth in the Championship table as they target a return to the top flight.
