Ben Kensell given glowing Hibs reference as Norwich icon Grant Holt dubs chief exec 'signing of the season'

Former Hibs and Norwich striker Grant Holt reckons Ben Kensell would be the "signing of the season" if he becomes the club's new chief executive.

The Hibees are looking to finally replace Leeann Dempster after the highly-regarded exec quit Easter Road last year before joining Queen's Park to lead the club's transition to full-time football.

Since then interim chief Greg McEwan has been in charge but the club are close to appointing their permanent successor ahead of the coming Scottish Premiership season and the push for a Europa Conference League group stage spot.

Kensell appears to be their man having left his role as Norwich chief operating officer last month, according to the Daily Record.

He spent seven years at Carrow Road in total, working his way up the club all the way from the commercial team to the top.

Canaries owner Deila Smith sang his praises when he departed and now a former player from the East Anglian club believes he'll be an astute signing.

Holt Tweeted: Well I hope this is true for the @HibernianFC fans fantastic guy and amazing at what he does.

"Worked with him for 5 years at Norwich . This could be Hibs signing of the summer."
