Ben & Jerry's breaks with tradition and launches brand's first ice cream on a stick

Legendary ice cream brand Ben & Jerry's has announced a break with tradition to make sure fans are never too far away from their favourite product.

It is launching it's first-ever ice cream not packaged in a traditional tub with its new Peace Pops, which comprises Fairtrade vanilla ice cream with chocolate chips and a cookie-dough-inspired centre.

It is then dipped in a soft chocolate coating and popped on a stick for customers to take wherever they go.

Peace Pops were first created in 1988 by co-founders Ben and Jerry to campaign for peace initiatives in the USA.

The brand developed its Peace, Love and Cookie Dough message to champion the cause and continues to fight for peace, justice and equality today.

Ben & Jerry's is still supporting similar movements - from using Fairtrade-certified ingredients that champion economic justice, to partnerships and advocacy that seek to educate and mobilise citizens to drive systemic change around the world.

Flavour guru Josine Nohlmans said: “We know people love our cookie dough, so we reimagined it so they never need to leave home without it."

Ben & Jerry’s Peace Pops will be available in Co-op stores from mid- January, RRP £2.20 (single product) and £4 (three item multipack).
