Ben Godfrey makes Everton guarantee after being played out of position

Ben Godfrey has 'guaranteed' he will give his all in any position for Everton.

Godfrey, 22, impressed in an unfamiliar left-back role in the win over Chelsea at the weekend.

And he has also featured at right-back - and in a back three - since joining from Norwich City in a £20m summer move.

The England youth international admitted he is 'happy to learn' despite being played out of position by Carlo Ancelotti after a series of injury blows including Seamus Coleman and Lucas Digne.

Godfrey said of the left-back role: “You’re put in wide defensive situations and you’re exposed to different things.

“You’re also involved in attacks a lot more but I’m happy to learn and do my job for the team.

“I’m enjoying my time here and I’m happy to play anywhere for the boys and this club.

"I’ll give 110 per cent wherever I am on that pitch.

“That’s something I can guarantee – I’ll always give my best for this club and the shirt."
