Ben Foster makes positive Aaron Ramsdale prediction following summer transfer to Arsenal

Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster has stated that Aaron Ramsdale will become a ‘serious monster’ in the future.

Ramsdale completed a £24million transfer from Sheffield United to Arsenal in the summer, and football.london understands that the fee could rise to as much as £30million in potential add-ons.

The 23-year-old goalkeeper signed a four-year deal at the Emirates, with the option to extend for a further year.

It’s fair to say that the decision at the time wasn’t best perceived by many of the Gunners fan base, but Ramsdale has quickly won over the majority after an impressive performance in Arsenal’s 6-0 win over West Brom in the Carabao Cup.

And as Bernd Leno has conceded 9 goals in the Gunners’ opening three Premier League fixtures, some are calling for Ramsdale to get the nod in this afternoon’s clash with Norwich City.

According to popular keeper, Foster, Ramsdale will go on to do great things in the game.

“I’ve played against this guy, Aaron Ramsdale, a good few times. The guy seriously impresses me every time he plays,” he said, whilst speaking on the Premier League YouTube channel.

“He’s got a little bit of that mentality where he doesn’t care. Nothing fazes him and nothing bothers him, and he’s going to go on to be a serious monster in goal.”

Arsenal fans have already been shown a glimpse of that mentality, too, as Ramsdale expressed a desire to take Leno’s No.1 shirt.

Speaking in his first interview as an Arsenal player to Arsenal.com, Ramsdale said: “Competition is key.

“It’s also a great place to be. Bernd’s done a fantastic job over recent seasons and I’m here to push him all the way and take his shirt. That’s for me to achieve and for him to keep in front of me.”
