Ben Foster has some genius advice for Sir Elton John to solve his FA Cup dilemma

Ben Foster has had a brainwave and has told Sir Elton John he must can his Copenhagen concern and get to Wembley instead.

The music megastar seems certain to miss his beloved Watford in their FA Cup final with Manchester City next month.

He's due on stage in Denmark on the same day but the goalkeeper doesn't think the 40,000 expected to attend will mind if he doesn't show.

The gutted former Hornets chairman has a stand named after him at Vicarage Road but a calendar clash means he'll miss their biggest game in many years.

But Foster has come up with a brilliant solution to fix the problem - just not bother going and head back to London instead.

10 talking points from the Premier League weekend as top four contenders stutter

“It’s no dilemma. He should cancel right now," the Watford stopper told The Sun .

“I have loads of people I know who have weddings for that day and stuff.

“It is their own fault, d***heads - don't book a wedding on Cup final day!

“I don't think you could have predicted this at the beginning of the season. But as the season wore on it became obvious we had the chance of doing something.

“So Elton you just need to cancel, sorry guys.”

Watford FA Cup glory will top La Liga title with Barcelona for Gerard Deulofeu

Worried Sir Elton will probably wonder why he didn't think of that himself.

If the Rocket Man can't get a ticket he can just join Foster on the bench.

The Watford number one knows he won't play and says FA Cup keeper Heurelho Gomes must start.

Foster said: “Heurelho deserves it, he really does.

Paul Merson nails Wayne Hennessey's ridiculous 'Nazi defence' with Troy Deeney ban comment

“He has been absolute class, not only with me when I signed, but throughout when he has been playing. He is a great guy and deserves every opportunity like this.

“I honestly don't think there is any reason why he wouldn't to be perfectly honest.

“I think if the manager was going to change something he would have done it in the semi-final.

“But when you are talking about someone like Gomes there is no risk, there is no worry.

“It is not like it is a step down or anything. He is a class goalie and deserves his chance.”
