Ben Foster estimates how much Wrexham's lavish Vegas bash cost Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney

Wrexham goalkeeper Ben Foster has revealed the eye-watering sum of money that owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney forked out for the squad's all-expenses-paid trip to Las Vegas after sealing promotion back to the Football League.

The Red Dragons were promoted to League Two for the first time in 15 years in April, sealing the National League title with a 3-1 win over Boreham Wood and finishing the season on a staggering 111 points after a thrilling title race with rivals Notts County,

To celebrate their achievement, the entire squad were treated to a four-day trip to Vegas which saw them enjoy several famous hotels and night clubs in the city, including Hakkasan and the Bellagio, among others.

And former Manchester United and England star Foster, who came out of retirement to rejoin Wrexham in March, admitted that the gesture was "like nothing I've ever seen" as he estimated how much the epic trip would have set the club's Hollywood owners back.

"I went on the Vegas trip and it was hard work, mate, honestly," said the 40-year-old during an appearance on The Fellas podcast. "The way that Rob McElhenney and Ryan put it on for us, laid it on for us, was just like nothing I've ever seen.

"We got there and it was just straight to the shower, straight get changed, go to Hakkasan for dinner and then we're going to Hakkasan nightclub straight afterwards. All expenses paid."

During the trip, the squad also attended a Chainsmokers gig and were invited on stage by international DJ Steve Aoki, while they also enjoyed other luxury hotspots including Spago and Omnia. However, it is the team's experience in nightclub Hakkasan that sticks in Foster's mind.

"We walk in and whatever's playing, the music shuts off and they start playing a Wrexham song," Foster said. "We've got a massive closed off VIP area, and there's Wrexham drapes falling from the ceiling, poppers going off everywhere with confetti, glitter.

"There's a screen and it's showing like Paul Mullin scoring goals and stuff like that! It's 1am and they've stopped the music and they're putting this stuff on, and every one of us is just going 'What on earth's going on here?!'"

Asked how much cash he thought Reynolds and McElhenney had splashed on the trip, Foster added: "Got to be £500,000, had to be at least half a million. Genuinely, it had to be because they just looked after everything."

Foster's comments come after team-mate Ben Tozer described the Hollywood stars as "the best owners in the world" for putting on the trip for the squad, adding that they had "the best treatment" throughout their stay.

"Honestly the treatment we've had has been almost like royalty," Tozer told talkSPORT. "It's been so surreal and the owners are just incredible. We had the best security, even if we wanted to go to the toilet they would take us. I was like 'no chance' I wanted to get in the mix but that was the sort of treatment we had, it was so bizarre.

"The honesty and the personable bits they're doing around the town, I believe we've got the best owners in the world, the way that they are. They honour everything that they say and they don't say it flippantly, so far they've backed everything they've said up."
