Ben Davies photo shows he's having a very different winter break to his Tottenham team-mates

Ben Davies has given Tottenham Hotspur fans a little glimpse into what his winter break has delivered him and it's very different to what his team-mates have been getting up to.

Jose Mourinho told his players to head off on their holidays for the first part of this winter break.

He then gave them an extra bonus day off after their spirited comeback against Southampton to win their FA Cup fourth round replay on Wednesday night.

However, the Spurs head coach revealed that Davies would be spending his winter break doing anything other than resting up.

That's because the Welshman only returned to training with his team-mates last week from an ankle injury he picked up in Mourinho's first game against West Ham.

Mourinho explained that as Davies had already been out since November, the left-back would be spending his time at Hotspur Way training hard to be ready for Sunday's Premier League match at Aston Villa.

With the departure of Danny Rose Newcastle on loan Tottenham are lacking in natural left-backs.

Mourinho has been using Japhet Tanganga or Ryan Sessegnon in the role in recent weeks and Davies will add another option.

With Davies' team-mates posting images from their holidays in places like Dubai, Morocco, the Maldives and other far-flung locations around the world, the Welshman took to social media to show exactly what he is up to.

He posted the photo below from his latest fitness session at Hotspur Way.

Mourinho sees Davies as a key player in his Tottenham team going forward.

"If you want to know what I wanted to do, look to my first game against West Ham. That's the way I thought I was going to develop the team," he explained.

"Defend with a back four, attack with a back three. That was the first day of unlucky, goodbye Ben Davies."

Last week Mourinho said he hoped the Welshman would be ready for Villa.

"Ben has been training with us since Monday. Of course, after [the FA Cup game], the boys will have some time (off) but not him, he has to stay and work, so when we start the week of Aston Villa, he will be training with us fully.

"If everything goes well, he will be good for the Villa game."
