Ben Cleveland says d-lineman might be UGA’s most improved player

Georgia offensive lineman Ben Cleveland, during an interview with reporters, said that sophomore defensive lineman Jordan Davis might be the most improved player on the team.

Davis, a rising sophomore out of Charlotte, NC., played in 11 of 14 games his freshman season, starting four.

Cleveland praised Davis’ work ethic and commitment, which sounds like it has paid off.

Last month, Kirby Smart had good things to say of Davis as well.

“Jordan is pushing hard, Jordan works really hard, he’s working to control his weight,” Smart said after the fourth of 15 spring practices. “Jordan’s not playing to the level that he was mid-season, end of the season. He’s not there right now, but he’s working hard. Jordan comes in and works cardio more than anybody we’ve got. If I ran as much as Jordan my wife would be happy because I’d be skinny. But Jordan’s got to fight that battle and he knows it.”

Davis came to Georgia as a three-star prospect in the 2018 class. He’s a player I’ll be watching closely at G-Day.
