Chelsea’s decision to not finalise on any deals in the January transfer window did not go down well with Frank Lampard.
It was obvious in his pre-Leicester press conference that he was not happy with that situation.
Despite remaining inside the top four following a 2-2 draw with the Foxes at the King Power, there is a concern they’ll miss out on a Champions League place.
It means attention will be turned to the summer window and who the Blues might be able to attract and bring in.
One of them is set to be Ben Chilwell, and it is easy to see why.
Lampard seems to have settled on a current back four of Reece James, Andreas Christensen, Antonio Rudiger and Cesar Azpilicueta.
However, having the club captain at left-back appears to be out of necessity to have him in the starting XI, rather than a long-term option.
While being more natural left-backs, Emerson and Marcos Alonso appear to be merely back-ups.
Chelsea fans will be expecting an overhaul this summer and the investment to take Lampard’s team on to another level.
Chilwell will be part of that vision.
It wasn’t a very impressive opening to his game, when the ball rolled over his foot and out for a throw-in.
And in the first he was given a tough time by Callum Hudson-Odoi, who looked bright but without being a huge danger.
Reece James was the real threat in the first half, with some his crosses from Leicester's left being put into the perfect place almost every time.
Chilwell's one real moment of getting forward in the opening 45 minutes was when he burst into space and put in a decent pass to Harvey Barnes, who fired well over the bar.
But in the second half it was a completely different game. Brendan Rodgers spoke of the Foxes changing things up to stop the Blues's threat of James and Hudson-Odoi, which they certainly did.
Chilwell was integral in that play, getting much tighter to the Chelsea winger and not giving him the space to work with.
The other side of his game is certainly a huge part of his game as well, with two goals and another three assists to his name.
His finish well taken with his weaker foot, finding the bottom corner with a sweeping finish.
The England international's all-round play is something that Lampard would be keen to add to his ranks, if possible.
The Blues will no doubt try to bring in the 23-year-old, but it would be some ask to pry him away from the clutches of Leicester.
