Ben Chilwell agrees with Joe Cole about Chelsea's next mission after Leeds United draw

Thomas Tuchel has made an immediate impact since being appointed Chelsea head coach.

Following a 2-0 loss against Leicester City towards the end of January, the Blues found themselves points off the Champions League places having played a game more than Liverpool.

Whilst their top-four hopes weren't necessarily over at the time, the pressure on then-head coach Frank Lampard was increasing and a week later the decision was made to relieve him of his duties.

And since Tuchel 's arrival, Chelsea have not only overtaken the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham in the table, but their defensive transformation has caught the eye.

Saturday's goalless draw against Leeds United was the 10th time the Blues have kept a clean sheet during the German's opening two months in charge.

In this period, Chelsea are still to taste defeat with eight wins and four draws across all competitions.

But the one concern is a lack of goals with 10 scored during Tuchel's reign and Ben Chilwell admits addressing the issue is the next step under the former PSG boss.

"Coming into the game people would have predicted goals," Chilwell said, as per Goal. "The way Leeds play is pretty free-flowing and they are a difficult team to play against. They switch positions a lot on the pitch and it was a tough game. It wasn’t the best pitch for both teams to play on but we created chances.

"Leeds had a few chances but I think if you look at the chances we had, they were probably the better. I had a few chances and I had one in the second half when I should have scored.

"We need a bit more from each other in the final third and that is something we are trying to add.

"Defensively as a team we are solid and we are not conceding but going forward, we are going to want to score more goals to get us the wins."

Chilwell's assessment of Chelsea's next mission under Tuchel is something that Joe Cole agrees with.

But the former Blues midfielder has gone one better by naming the player that can solve the west London outfit's goalscoring issues.

"They need one player for me, Haaland. He's on the wish-list," Cole said on BT Sport. "He's a No 9. There's so much in this squad, there's quality in all areas, such a strong squad.

"You just need that one sparkle of magic, that No 9, that focal point and it will change this club getting back to the glory days of challenging for the title regularly."
