Ben and Cat Awkwardly Halt This Morning Over Product Mix-Up

Things got a bit awkward on This Morning today when Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley had to stop the show to clear up a mistake that left viewers scratching their heads, and potentially their wallets.

During a segment with Dr Zoe Williams, the trio hit pause on the usual health chat to issue a much-needed correction about a product they’d featured a couple of weeks ago. The mood turned slightly sheepish as Cat turned to Dr Zoe and asked: “Er, and there is a clarification you wanted to talk about?”, reported Entertainment Daily.

Dr Zoe didn’t miss a beat. “Yeah,” she said, jumping straight in. “I just want to mention a product that we featured on the show a couple of weeks ago. It’s the Daye HPV screen tampon which can be used as an at-home screening test for some of the strains for the HPV virus. We just wanted to mention the cost of the item. We got that wrong last time. The price of the kit is actually £89. It is not £277 as we previously said.”

That’s right – a whopping £188 difference. Not exactly small change. No wonder they felt it needed correcting.

Ben seemed relieved to have it sorted. “That’s great. I’m glad we got that cleared up,” he said, clearly keen to move things along.

And move along they did. The team quickly turned their attention back to the day’s top health headlines, including the worrying state of the UK’s heart health and the often-overlooked effects of endometriosis on women.

The whole moment was brief, but it didn’t go unnoticed. This Morning fans are used to a few on-air hiccups, whether it’s a technical glitch or Cat’s bold wardrobe choices. Still, when it comes to health products – especially ones related to something as important as HPV screening – accuracy matters.

It’s not unusual for daytime TV shows to feature handy gadgets or wellness trends, and This Morning is known for mixing light chat with genuinely helpful info. But when it comes with a big price tag attached, viewers want to know they’re getting the correct details.

Thankfully, the clarification came quickly, and the show moved on without too much fuss. But it’s a good reminder that even the most polished live shows can trip up now and then, and when they do, it’s best to own it and set the record straight.
