Ben Affleck has said his performance was “so bad” in a film he did in the Nineties that his one and only line was dubbed over.
The actor, who has won two Oscars over the course of his career, was discussing his small role in the 1992 film Buffy the Vampire Slayer, in which he plays a basketball player.
"Apparently, I'm so bad in that movie," he said. "I had one line. It was 'Take it,' I think."
Affleck told SiriusXM's The Jess Cagle Show that he said the line as his character held a basketball while another player turned into "a werewolf or whatever”.
He had thought his performance was "fine" and the director, Fran Rubel Kuzui, "seemed happy" with it. But when he later watched the film at the cinema, he realised that was not the case.
"I went to the movie and I was like, 'That is not my voice. That is not me,'" he said.
"Apparently the director hated my performance so much that she looped the entire performance, which was one line. So, yes, I am dubbed – in English.”
Affleck, who portrays an alcoholic basketball coach in his new film The Way Back, recently opened up about his experience with alcoholism.
He also said he quit The Batman over fears he would “drink himself to death”.
